Fire and Ice

Soft steps slowly treading with stealthy pace
Rustle of their fibers very close, caressing threads
Their hearts thudding in frenzied pace, relentless
And silver moon shines bright, tired yet endless

Shadows steal in the shade of the night
Stars shine as melancholy as they are bright
Softly they call out to each other
Their hushed whispers caressing the fabric of time

Their awaits green eyes in silent rejoice
Straining its ears for a whiff of their muffled voice
Together in the heart they all lie
Love, Life, Hate and Demise

Yet they stand, patient and far
One blue and one red star
Far from the crowd, together they are
Their eyes silent, brooding and dark

In the corridors of the past
And darker recesses of the heart
Through timeless torture and delight
Together they lie, Fire and Ice

  1. This a poem of mystery. Of veils, and its lifting. Its subtle and heavy and makes for a very enjoyable read. What I liked best was the way Fire and Ice incorporated this "texture" into the poem. It is hard to explain really, but the colours and the texture made this poem rich and replete.
